Reservoir levels, without the guesswork
The water authority (AAA) publishes one bulletin a day covering 19 reservoirs, while the USGS sensors behind those numbers report much more often. There was no single, clear place to see every reservoir, how it is trending, and what the levels mean — in Spanish and English, on a phone.
So we built one: a system that reads the sensors every hour, a website that makes the data readable at a glance, and an assistant that answers questions about it.
Three pieces, built together
The system
The data engine behind the site: hourly readings from the USGS sensors, matched to the reservoirs in the AAA bulletin.
- 19 reservoirs, read every hour
- Change since the last reading and since yesterday
- AAA alert phases applied to each level
The AI chat
"Pregunta" — ask about any reservoir in plain language and get an answer drawn from the live data.
- Suggested questions to start
- Answers grounded in the readings
- Available on every page
The website
Designed and built end to end: a dashboard, a map, the daily bulletin, service interruptions and a page for every reservoir.
- Español and English
- Each reservoir drawn to show its level
- Built mobile-first
Every reservoir, at a glance

Live, every hour
Built with Sombrero Media, powered by Carrión
Embalses is a Melodev × Sombrero Media collaboration, running on Carrión — the platform we built to capture, manage and act on live data, with AI on top.

Have data people need to see?
We build the system, the AI and the website around it. Tell us about your project — bilingual (EN/ES), no pressure.
